Hey guys
You may recall my starter system shorted out a while back, I think it was there was so much water leaking into the rear pot,
it put too much strain on the starter, because, each morning i would remove the rear plug, crank and water would spew outta the sparkplug hole:p.
Anyway, i used the CarGo sealup stuff(after thouroughly flushing radiatior etc. Thermo was stuffed so i left it out for a few weeks. Found an old thermo
with a gasket on it, put it in. all good.
BUT. . . . .it has been idling low on startup, sounds like running on 5 again, especially sitting at lights'. Y'day, pulled up to the lights it started to miss, & idle
low , once i came to a stop, it stalled, wasnt worried, just restart it huh?--nope. Wouldn't friggging start.
Anyway, sorry for the story:rolleyes:. My cars stuck a few clicks from home, If anyone has had similar issue, would love some feedback.
My thoughts as of now are:
1-Havent changed the fuel filter for a long time+been running on a few L of fuel at times(ive run out twice)-could this block the filter right up?
2-I've had problems with electrix, relays etc, plan to check/replace fuel pump relay.
3-Fuel pump, hope its not, but Im gonna check it out anyway.
4-Almost forgot, i read that moving the dizzy a bit will help, just to get just to move the car, then set the timing properly.
5-Got a good set of leads to replace, also a coil if necessary, and a good clean cap, but i dont have a spare dizzy, shouldnt matter though huh?
If theres anything Ive overlooked, please let me have it, only way to learn these things.

Thanx anyone
Matt

Have a similar problem with a mates ef that he's giving to me. Once he gets back from the mines where gonna replace coil packs, leads, plugs and fuel filter, because we've run it dry a few times aswell. and already had to replace a f**k fuel pump twice....

thanx guys,
the b**ch of it is:
the car is not at home, gotta ride my bike down to it, then ride to repco,
if that doesnt work. . . . . frigging nightmare man.
Ill read up on testing stuff, try narrow it down, ill test the relay, the coil, pump etc.
& go from there.

BEEN BUSY WITH THIS s**t MAN.
Replaced the fuel filter, all was well.
a few days later , its back to before, tried starting it tonight,
wouldnt turn. Took the last plug out, looked in & the cylinder was full of friggin coolant.
SO, i turned it over, blew 3/4 litre of water out the hole  , it ws idling.
i turned it off, to put the plug back in, and it wouldnt start this time. I know its been running
on 5 lately cos'of this leak, but , after checking the plugs, i dont have a good spark.
So, Im gonna take the gasket off an AU my mates wrecking, i have a coil, leads & cap, i will
replace them also, see how things go.
Seems like that Sealup stuff worked for a bit, so i think its the gasket, at least my oil is still black  , for now.
thanx for the input guys.
