i had a simular problem it turned out to be this sensor which would cut emissions from your exhaust and its on the top of your throttle body but that was cutting my car out

Could be the ICS on top of the throttle body.

Might pay you to buy a new gasket for it, unbolt it and give it a clean, spray some WD40 or other penetrant into the holes. Sometimes they build up carbon and can be a b**ch.

Part number for the Gasket is ER 9F670 A $7.10. If it IS the ICS, they are still available NEW
ER 9F715 A $183.00. If like Shazza said, it is your TPS, situated on the side of the throttle body and is EC 9P535 A $204.00. At the end of the inlet manifold is an Actuator that controls Throttle responses as well although, they RARELY have troubles, never actually sold one and never been asked for one in over 20 years.

ICS= Idle Control Speed Solenoid or Throttle Air Bypass Valve
TPS= Throttle Position Sensor or Potentiometer

In the pic below, the ICS is 35, the TPS is 27 and the Actuator is 18.
