Ive got some spare coils, one off an EA MPFI, and one off an EB2 MPFI..
Are these coils the same as ELs?? i ask because i need to fix my father in law's EL and i suspect coil, however i'd like to test it first...
Thanks.

David

I have seen new bosch coils for an ED and an EL. they look the same and measure almost the same on my multi-meter, however the part numbers on the boxes were different. The coil for the older model was quite a lot cheaper to $55 to $95. Since the primary resistances were so close I don't see what harm it could do to try one. I would but its your call.

The faulty coils both had fine cracks in the plastic body that I assume allowed water into the works.

Good Luck,
Cheers
