Hi just looking to pickup an au 2 engine, but want to make sure it is as is said. What if any are the identifying marks between the engines.

I was told separately that the au 2 engine was less prone to head problems, is this true if so what out of curiosity did they change on them?

Cheers

the au engine does not have the head issue of the E series engine

unless u are talkign the HO or VCT engines which are found on the XR6 or the fairmonts etc

AU2 engine has a map sensor fitted under the throttle body. It has 1 bolt that holds it in. Au1 has a 2 bolt map sensor.

Like Ash said, the only differences are in the ancillary items, other than that the insides are the same, just head differences in VCT and HP engines.

All AU engines will have an alloy sump, easiest way to differentiate it from an E Series engine, and part numbers should all begin with "WR2A"
