It's around $3500 to get done, but with the rebate you only fork out $1500.

I've only heard good things about it, in most cases you actually gain power over petrol.

Punch it into Google, there are stacks of sites with info, and it's very popular in Europe as you will see after searching.

Those of us who live in WA get both the $2000 federal government incentive AND a $1000 state government incentive leaving the cost at about $500

In that case then you can use your tank, lines etc.
You'd be best to get a quote to see what you can/can't use from your old system.

You prob wouldn't get the rebate as it's not a new conversion, but i'm sure the LPG man could re-compliance to help you out lol.

Call up a few places and see how you go. The waiting list at the moment is mainly because of tanks, but you already have one so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Is someone in Aust actually doing these conversions?? I know there was a guy in qld who did a few GTI, I think, but it was a flop commercially...I thought he was the only one.....

Anyone in SA doing them?

parnell were doing them last i heard. But when i spoke to them they said they couldnt do a system that would be able to do more power than 180 fwkw so i was told to stick . with the old venturi or whateva it is style. Gas is getting to expensive now anyways

You'll find you can get it done by most LPG installers now.
You guys are going back to a time when it wasn't widely available, it's a different story now.

Guys. The injected systems that are out there today arent going to flow enough for your Stage 5 engines.

The best one out there for that is Bill Campbells on - www.gas-injection.com (hes in Sydney) - I had it in my EB.
Facts : It ran off the EEC (factory Computer) - it had *awesome* power.. and it was very flexible. But its not commercial right now.

Perhaps a few of you should get together and ask him where he is.

Its different in that the injector control is actually at the manifold. LPG is supplied to the injectors in exactly the same manner as petrol (the Fuel Rail - although tapped for Gas). When I used it, I had better performance than on Petrol... although you cant have both (yet).

Now I have my ford escape. Im running LPG Injection on it - the OMVL Dream XXI system. It works, and works well. Engine goes quite nicely - but the power loss is noticable. The injectors are mounted on rails away from the manifold, and LPG is delivered in a less satisfactory manner.

Anyway - thats my 2.5 cents. Im sure Im one of the few that have run 2 different LPG injection setups (and Landi, Impco, Vialle, and a few others) so Im one of the few that has real miles experience.

Im also one of very few people thats ever had the GTI System.

Cheers

Nigel

There ya go - that's the GTI guy I referred to right at the start of this - I had an email conversation with him and he was frustrated that they'd not really taken off - its a top idea, like I say it beats me why most gas installers and new cars still come with taxi style amos ring setups - I mean, thats what I've got and its ok, but with all the other crap they put on new cars they still haven't got around to expoiting this technology.....
