Apologies if this has been asked before:
Is there merit in adding some injector cleaner (i.e. Nulon) to the fuel?

Yeah it's worth doing, but I tend to only do it if it's running a bit crap.

You get better benifit from it when you do a long run.....200km or more.

it all depends which band you get, some of them you may aswell piss in the tank in my opinion,cant remember what brands there are but nulon would be a good one

I have two friends playing there, two great talents and two great gals who know how to party. As for the cleaner, I was thinking of Nulon.

Petrol injector cleaner's (regardless of brand) contain >90% Kerosene & 10% Shellite or Enamal Thiners.
Diesel injector Cleaner (again regardless of brand) contain 60% Kerosene & 40% Enamel Thiners (which is exactly the same mix as "Diggers" brand Mineral Turpentine). So, long story short, if you have a petrol engine, use 300ml Kerosene (whichever one) to 60L of petrol and you will be sweet. |

I stay clear of all these 'cleaners' all they do is try to push s**t in to ever smaller holes deeper in the system.
Only way to to take the lot apart & get it cleaned properly

'Deeper into the system'?
I figure the only place it can go is into the combustion chamber to be burnt up? Seems getting the injectors 'ultrasonic' cleaned is (apparently) the best way to go. Here is an interesting video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_zWDvCjbu0

Oh, also found this:
ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/recommend-a-place-i-can-get-my-injectors-cleaned-t106027.html The car was bought second-hand, and have no idea if the previous owner was using ethanol (although they were fastidious in having a regular service, which may indicate they were as thoughtful about the fuel used), and although it's only done 130,000km, I'm figuring that if it is reasonably inexpensive, why not clean the things?

The cleaner will dissolve anything in the filter & pass it on to the injectors where it could block up again. In short its a miracle fix in a bottle. Nothing really beats taking them out for a full clean
