I can't believe how many threads i have read about cars not starting after homer simpson (doh!!) electrical installations.

DISCONNECT BATTERY FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

before any electrical installation, always remove the negative cable first and install last.

If it is cranking then I don't think it is smartlock related. As mentioned check all fuses again.

Its cranking but not starting and you havnt touched anything to do with the smart lock besides the CRT_LMP then yes it is smartlock related.

If the CRT_LMP is blown the smartlock isnt getting power and if it doesnt get power the ECU dont get the message to enable the injectors.

Well I could be wrong but my impression was that smartlock disables the starter and the ECU. I checked the smartlock documentation and it agrees with me, here is a quote from it
Quote:

The immobilised state is indicated by the Smartlock warning jewel (LED) as a rapid flash rate.
The system enters the immobilised state if Smartlock receives at least two incorrect codes when the ignition switch is turned to On.
When the car is in the immobilised state, you cannot start the engine, as the BEM has disabled both the starter motor, and the EEC-V system.
If the cause of the immobilisation is a corruption of the codes during transfer, you should be able to start the car on the second attempt.
This indicates that the BEM side of smartlock is OK its the ECU that is not happy. The starter is driven from the BEM!

If you read what you have just said it says 'The system enters the immobilised state if Smartlock recieves at least two incorrect codes when the ignition is on'...The Smartlock hasnt recieved any errors because it isnt being powered.

What happens is when you turn the key to ON it checks the 3 codes around the car like you have said. If 2 of these are wrong then it WILL disable the starter motor and the injectors. But when you turn the key on but the BEM doesnt get powered, even if all the codes are fine, it disables the injectors.

Not that I want to argue but if the starter output is from the BEM how does it work without power? I guess the EF EL is different to the earlier ones.

the BEM opens the circuit to the starter when it immobolises the car, so when the bem has no power, it doesnt open the circuit, but it also doesnt tell the pcm to enable the injectors and spark...
you will find things like power windows, maybe the mirrors, and definately the interior lights wont work too
