The KMs are held in the Inst Cluster, not the ECU :-P

No they're not. They're stored in the cluster.

It must of taken a lot of modifying to put a AUII/III ECU in an AUI, because of the difference with SmartShield/SmartLock etc.

You can update your AUII with a late AUIII program.

AUI is different.

late AU1's had smartshield too, but ive not heard of updating AU1's with AU2 ecu programming before...
