Hey guys,

I was just reading through the workshop manual and came across the VCT testing section.

I have always been curious about whether my VCT solenoid is working correctly because when I bought the car there is a wire (red) that has been cut and replaced with another red wire for some strange reason. both wires seem to read the same voltage around the 12v mark.

Also apparently the solenoid is supposed to read 23-45 Ohms however when I put my multimeter across it I was only reading 12.5 Ohms.

Can anyone think why the red wire was cut and replaced with a different red wire and is 12.5 Ohms ok or does it sound like the solenoid has gone.
