gday, im gettin my car tuned friday with a new cam and im wondering if the 1671AU (1673) wade cam makes power after the limiter, i think its 5700ish. If it does how much more can you go with out busting s**t lol.

I set mine to 6k, but I doubt the cams making power all the way there (1673).
I raised it just coz I can :P
And I didnt like hitting the rev limiter that much either.

ok cool, yea i acidently left my car in first gear when i went to floor it tonight and it was bouncin on the limiter for a 1-2sec and i thought s**t, it revs up pretty quick wonder if i can raise it.

i think the torque would drop off way before the limiter anyway

i say it wouldnt..... have a look the dyno graphs in my images, torque is basically nil at the rev limiter

oh yep, i dont think i will bother changing it then. I hope il make desent power with the cam an chip.

if you oversized your bottom end id suggest raising the limiter and upgrading the driveline to suit.

no point revving a long stroke undersquare motor any harder than we already do.

Raised the limiter to 6250 in my EL, but the cam was only just peaking at 6200 anyway. Engine was reliable, it hit the limiter frequently, and was driven hard, numerous dyno runs etc. etc. Just don't mess with the speed limiter (word to the wise).
