I just fitted the typhoon snorkles to my NA 6 and i'm just wondering if anyone who might have done this gets an odd air blowoff noise when you turn the car off? It sounds a bit like there's stored, slightly pressurised air being released from somewhere near where the intake hoses enter near the top of the engine block.

I thought that was at the front of the engine and it only does it since the new intakes went on.

Well yes that's obvious, but is it actually a problem or is it to be expected with the larger amount of air available?

If anyone's done this mod and gets a similar sound let me know for my own peace of mind please.

I took it for a half hour drive this arvo and it drives fine, there's a little bit of an exhaust growl at very low revs which wasn't there prior to the mod but otherwise the car feels a bit happier to accelerate then it used to and there also seems to be smoother (for want of a better word) gear changes under hard acceleration.

It doesnt happen on mine being force fed, but on my old commy when I put the pod on it did that. You hear it on all the 5ltrs with pods too. So no prob I'd say.

My old R31 did this with the pod. Normal I suppose,

Yeh a lot of cars do it.
Cant hear it on mine, but on my mates VN paddock basher we put the pod straight off the tb with a 90deg bend out the bonnet, and it was friken loud.

not a problem mate, its the air thats compressed inside the engine being forced back into the manifold and it leaks past the throttlebody, the BA's to it rather loudly,

the cars all do it, a bigger engine will do it loader, but it can't be heard with the air-box on same as induction noise...

so its all good mate!
