plus that kit i quoted is the AU MLS kit anyways so its not like your using a cornflake box for gasket.

use what you will. sell what will.

the fact is AU engine go far longer with out head gasket problems.
i've used used almost all of them. After having to to redo the job because of gasket failure, i won't be using anything but the genuine AU gasket. regardless of the cost.

I don't think you would need Hylomar on a steel head gasket. The gasket seals pretty well on its own and the point about peeling off...I am sure the steel gasket will come off as one piece...it doesn't break into pieces like the E-series gaskets.

Hylomar doesn't just go on head gaskets :D You spray it on all the gaskets except the exhaust. Some of my bikes have steel gaskets as standard and they can be a prick to get off aluminium at times. For $14 why not?

Personally i think the whole AU steel gasket thing is abit of overkill. Unless you want to up the compression slightly (not that it would that much) a good quality standard gasket would be fine. I'm running a high quality after market standard gasket on my turbo engine on 10psi.... and have not had a problem.

Head gaskets go for a reason, usually due to warping of either the block or the head or just shear age due to incorrect maintenance of the engine. After 330,000 i striped my engine (ebII) for a rebuild... The head had never been off it.

If your going to do a head gasket do the job properly and get the head skimmed ($40) and check the block with a feeler gauge and a straight edge for warping and you should have no problems.

Guys thanx for everybody's opinion and ideas, Everyday i learn something new on fordmods forum. Today i've bought a VRS head gasket set which includes Head Gasket, inlet manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, timing case gasket etc. and it came with a set of headbolts with the matching brand, the brand is "PRO-TORQUE" and the item code for gasket set is "DR523G-HB" and for head bolts its "EA6050A". I dont know if its a good brand or no. I am attaching the picture of the set please have a look and pleasel et me know if i have made a mistake by buying this set. Oh another thing, I have paid $79.50 for the whole set including head bolts.

VRS kit = Valve Regrind Set not brand name....

those part numbers i quoted you are for a PERMASEAL brand kit of good quality which includes the metal AU gasket.
