Hi guys thanks for all the replies on "Idle Woes" post. I pulled off ISC and gave it a clean with carby cleaner, seems to be running smoother now and have also switched to premium unleaded.

My questions this time is I was looking through Gregory's book on EF series falcons and noticed that there is a gasket between ISc and thottle body :? . Is this right? I definatly do NOT have a gasket seperating the two.

Any advise is geartful!

could possibley give you a slightly rougher idle, as it might let a leak in thru where the gasket should be... i'd have it there either way! :P

im guessing it wouldn't seal up 100%, probably letting more air in an causing idle to rise. my d***head mechanic put mine back on incorrectly once (EB) and was letting more air and it was idling really high.

You could always make your own with a bit of gasket paper if your concerned.

I always lose or brek my ISC gaskets.. never end up putting them back in. No big deal!

the shinny thing on top of throttle body, controls idle or somethin, if it aint workin properly u get a real rough idle.
start car an disconnect it if ur curious like i was.

Stands for Idle Speed Control, sits on top of Throttle Body. Essentially it lets a little air bypass the throttle which increases or decreases the idle as required.

I have purchased on from ford as I could be bothered making my own (it is difficult to get down there to the ISC), I believe it was around 7 or it may have been 11 dollars.
I would personally be more concerned with unfiltered air getting into the engine rather than a rough idle (I am paranoid).
