JMM are the only manufacturer to date that have sensible big cams, otherwise you will just loose all round and still get your a*** kicked by a JMM cammed car. Really think this option out and plan your future modifications. It is essential that you match your cam to your head porting ability and stroke

By bad idle, you do understand this to be allmost on the verge of constantly stalling dont you? That aint cool.

agreed. my mate put a stg 3 crow cam in his EF - ok-ish whilst actually driving, but starting/stopping/idling at lights etc - just stupid - could not idle at all - just something to consider!

Yeah thats me...
If you were to put the cam in first without a chip, I wouldn't recommend revving it up much cause it runs a bit lean up high.

Whenever you start the car, you gotta keep revving itfor the first 5 mins or else it will stall.

Forget using AC or turning sharply at the low revs.

I had to set my base idle at about 1200 before the chip. But after a bit of driving the idle control sensor would freak out and my revs would keep climbing.

I put the chip in after 5 days, (had to get it re-programmed in QLD).

Moral of the story is, buy the cam, keep saving, buy the chip, fit both at same time.

basicly the (AC and Pwr Steering relies on) idle up gets screwed with a bigger cam as it needs more fuel and a lil more timing at idle. so stalling is goin to be a issue and also cold starts...not cool
also cruise will be rich and wot will be lean...not cool

get the chip n cam at the same time

Both jonno the SVO XR6 and I have used/ are using the stage 3 cam with a chip.

Take our advice, do it all at the same time.

What sort of chip did you guys get and how much $$$?

Do chiptorque have standard chips for these cams or do you have to get it dyno tuned?

I'm using chiptorque.

They do have off the shelf chips for these cams, no dyno tuning required.

I new chiptorque chip costs about $600 from memory, try to find a 2nd hand one (only costs $100 to re-flash).
