hey guys, finally got my car up and running again.. i decided to tune it without the J3 Chip in it, just to eliminate potential problems.. so i got it to where i was happy with it, slotted the J3 Chip back in (with the 6DJA binaries) and it lost most of its power, the idle seemed to be a bit more steady.. but put ur foot down and it goes no where.. do i have to tune the car to the chip? or could this be a dodgy programmed chip?

How did you tune it without the chip?

If you turned the dizzy then put the dizzy back to stock and see what happens?

sorry.. i shall rephrase that, i had alot of problems with the car, i ended up swapping over BBM's and changed welsh plugs, so had to reset timing all over again, as i didnt mark the dizzy before removing it, so i have the timing where i am happy with it at the moment. I wouldnt have thought that the J3 would rob it of power? it doesnt say anywhere in their guides about adjusting your timing to suit the chip..

Common sense not loading. Put the car back to stock then fit the j3.

If you are doing timing without a timing gun you are asking for trouble.
