Hey guys,
My name is Kieren and I am Jamins brother.
Last Saturday my brother was tragically killed by a drink driver. He was riding home from a party ( he is responsible and never drink drives, he always rides, plus his car is in the garage being done up) He got 2 roads away when a drink driver aimed for him and run him into the road. Both me and him have been the best of friends and have always worked well together on either his white ED falcon or my white XF ute. I know how he used to loved scrolling through pages and pages of this website so i plan on living on his dream.
Today has been the first day I have started working on his car. I havent been able to before. At this point in time jamin was rebuilding his gearbox, clutch, driveshaft, dif etc. My knowledge is very very minimal compared to his and so i beg your patience with me as i build my brothers dream. He has pages and pages of notes of what he has done, how to do it and what he wants to do. one day i plan on turning these into technical documents for you.

Im sorry for dribbling. Here is my 6cilender question. I am just replacing the seals in the gearbox and the main oil seal behind the flywheel. Now i want to replace the spiggot bearing. The manula says to use a slide hammer but i dont have one. Is there anyway to get it out without that tool? Thankyou so much for all your info in the past and all your help that you gave my brother.

R.I.P Jamin

Omg i just found some instructions on how Jamin was going to do it. He said to get a long bolt in which the head would fit in through the spiggot bearing hole. Then use a bit of pipe over the bolt and use a nut and big washer on the end to hit against with the pipe. Rekon it would work? Damn there is so much information here!

Thanks, I would hope that my younger brother will come and learn with me now, and that if anything ever happened to me that he would continue on all our projects as well. I was left my brothers car and his speedway car in his will. I am honoured and will try my hardest to become as great a driver as he was. There was seriously no-one better in my opinion at holding his own on the road.

His one dream of making it to a fordmods cruise never happened so let me know when there is going to be one down there in Perth and i will have the beast going for his memory. Wont eva be as clean and shiny and perfect looking tho as only he could do it. But i will give it my best

R.I.P Bro

Sorry to hear about your brother, that's terrible news.

As for your question, how to remove spiggot bearing.

We always used to pack the back and centre of the bearing full of grease. Then using a bolt just the size of the input shaft (not loose, not tight) hammer the bolt into the centre of the grease. The grease is put under pressure forcing the bearing out. Yes it does work!
