i had and ef xr6 wagon that had the dev 5a kit and it made 236rwhp on the jim mock dyno it was pretty tough but the weight of the wagon killed it a bit and the expense killed me but now it has a powerdyne supercharger and pushes 260rwkw

That's what the johnnie blue was for... He's a sly character and wouldn't tell me what he did... but whatever it was, it worked. My mate was working at a engine place at the time (would've seen he at the start but he has a thing about working on mate's cars). He's overseas at the moment, so I can't get a hold of him... If I find out, i'll pm you

thats a welcome suprise, I read somewhere else on here that AUs needed a chip to run an aftermarket cam properly. Good to hear thats not always the case. still want a chip though for max potential.

also, x3ros, where on earth do you get those great prices from I must know! 700 bucks for pacemakers and 2.5 in, is pretty low compared to everywhere else. shelf price of the ones Ive seen are 400+ just for the headers.

also xr8 intake is $42.80 sourced new from Ford. prolly get it cheaper at wreckers, but harder to find at wreckers? yes/no?

I had a dev 4 cam in my au with edit histall xorst and his race series headers. It ran a 14.773 and back to back 14.8's one month later.I since then have installed 4:11 ratio ,done headwork, retuned bigger non Jim Mock cam and only pulled a 14.9.

By comparison I would have been wiser to stick with their cam only upgrade and been quicker. In all fairness though I am going to try my new setup soon to make sure how it goes.

Jim Mock's stuff works but it does need a good custom tune to make it work well.

maybe the 4.11 is affecting your top end speed and thats why your running a few tenths slower?

maybe the 3.7 would be a good compromise of acceleration and top end speed...

nah 4.11's behind an Auto is perfect for a 6 falcon it will use all gears to full potential on the 1/4 it would suffer though if he is running a cam thats more low-mid rather than a mid-high cam.

Yeah the dev 5 cam doesnt start "pulling" till 3000.... and keeps pulling hard to the rev limiter. i rekon you could call it a 3000-6000 profile.... Its particularly bad off the line unless your running 4.11's or a 3000 stally. Both would be ideal.
