Hello all, i am thinking of purchasing a de2 or dev3 kit for my 99 au and wondered what people thought about JMM. I've priced difilippo exhaust and intake and it was like $2000 so i thought might as well get a dev2 kit insted or spend a little more and get a dev3 kit.

Regards Bradley.

i wouldn't bother, you could get good headers/2.5" exhaust and cam for cheaper than that

Jim Mock Motorsports = Overpriced s**t
He does sell some good stuff but christ its expensive.
The "Stage 2" kit doesnt even include a camshaft.
The "Stage 3" kit would be the only one i'd be considering, but at that price F*CK!!
However, it does include dyno time and install. All of the below mentioned (aside from headwork, easily) are easily able to be done yourself.
Source your parts separately and you will have the same setup for half the cost.
Contact CMS about cams and head work, Pacemaker for extractors, Redback or Lukey for exhaust, Venom for cats.
Autolite 985 Spark Plugs - $5 from eBay US
Cam - 200
Extractors - 500
Exhaust - 250
Cat - 200
Headwork - 1000-1500

Works out cheaper if you dont want to do headwork.

Cheers

Sam

Yep very expensive stuff, both the defili and mock gear is overpriced in my opinion. Personaly I haven't spent any money on defilipo but I have spent money with mock. If you want extractors the mock race series are about the best you can buy(flame suit on) they are expensive but you should be able to get those supplied and a 2.5 mandrel redback system fitted at the same time for under $1200, hiflow cat $200. Get some 3" pipe and the appropriate silicon bends from super pov, maybe $150 there.

So for around the $1500 mark you'll have a better result, be able to afford some tuning and have a better car for less money. Just have a look at my sig, Im only running the xr cam in a forte motor with no tune but it is 5sp. My mates auto forte makes around 120rwkw the same setup minus the cam. Bear in mind a stock auto makes between 100 and 105.

Buy a Wade cam, pre programmed J3 chip, extractors and exhaust.
$200, 190, 400, 250 = $1050 give or take. Exhaust joint will knock up a 3" intake for 150-200 plus a silicon joiner or 2 from supercheap.
