5kw for $1190 doesn't sound like good value if you're just looking at a peak power figure. I guess if it can beef up your overall power and not just your peak power I gues it may be useful.

As for what it does check their quote out

Quote:
The JMM Sequential tuner, unlike other interceptor units, takes complete control of the injection system in your vehicle to control the fuel injectors. In turn the ignition control system in the JMM tuner simply takes control of crank and cam sensors and allows us to manipulate ignition timing.

Most inteceptors simply increase or decrease a voltage to a sensor, for eg map sensor, to adjust fuel injectors. This causes a problem as the Cars ECU also uses this sensor to control the ignition timing. This can, and in some cases make tuning very hard and also unaccurate thru all the rev range and at differing conditions like increased or abnormal air temps, or cold winter mornings.

The JMM Inteceptor takes over the actual injector system, ie we cut off the injector wires and join our ecu to them. This in turn does not effect any other functions your standard ecu has.

Other functions of the JMM Inteceptor are boost control, 2 aux outputs, 2 aux inputs and variable boost control (turn it up and down)if needed, map sensor clamps and maf clamps, MAF meter idle control systems. Built in 3 bar map sensor for turbo tuning etc.

The unit can also be removed and a blanking plug installed to return to factory tune if needed.

for the extra cah mate id get their unichip option for $1400 installed and tuned.

I think the 1100 is for good dyno time but dont quote me but i think that could be an interceptor so not the best way to do your engine management....or save a lil bit more and get a stand alone performance ECU like a haltech or WOLF 3D unit.

You'd pick a Unichip up even cheaper now that people are turning to the Flash Tuners.

I hear $300 isn't too uncommon a price to pay.

It sounds like a standalone ECU, but probably without the ability to tune it yourself!
I'd go another aftermarket ECU personally, if I wanted that sort of tunability.
I'd imagine the only people that can actually tune the JMMSS are themselves.
Kinda defeats the purpose hey..
