why are the front hubs 5 stud and rears 4? must be a prick to get wheels for it,

did you have to do much fab to the engine bay to fit the 302?

302 windsor is a easy fit in te as long as you dont use castlemain rod shop kits!!!! i made that mistake and had to modify every part that was suposidly a off the shelf bolt in fit??? extractors are the biggest nightmare on te's with v8's. so thats why im thinking of putting my turbo gear in it..will go better than any mild 302w anyday i think

I'd rather keep the motor in the xr6, and put a v8 in the cortina

A v8 would be way tuffer in the corty. What parts wernt going on?

If u put ur 6cyl turbo motor in the corty then what's going in the xr6 ?

the engine mounts from crs put the engine too far forward.then the extractors wouldnt slide in on the passenger side.all up i had engine in and out 8 times to get it right.but after the extractors finally went on,i found as soon as car fired up they hit when the engine idled..so engine came out and car cover went on lol..if i decide to put the turbo gear off the el i would return the car back to stock.i have three el xr6's atm lol..plus spare 4.0 engines. so yeah big decision time..i want a quick car for powercruise/supernats and my el is bloody quick with 280rwkw so in the corty would be a weapon

ive been considering the same conversion, 4.0l turbo into cortina!

the turbo i6 would s**t on the 5.0 power wise and putting it in the cortina would be a fast car, really f**k fast...lol..

yeah i agree troyman. i have spent the arvo watching turbo cortinas on you tube and havent seen a slow one yet hahahaha.i most likely will take the turbo gear off the el and put it all on another engine and run it in the corty.i also have for the corty a c4 auto thats been built to handle 500hp+
and 3000 stally so makings are there for a fast ride, just have to put it all together if i decide to do it

Well if u have spare 4.0 motors and you'll be returning the xr6 to stock, and the 5.0 won't fit. Put the turbo gear on a 4.0 and drop it in the corty, you've had ur fun in the xr6 so why not put it in the corty.
