I can't find an image of a sender but they have a plastic body about 2 inches from the hex base. Much longer than a switch, hence why they break so easily.

I found the easiest way to get access is to remove the airbox and snorkel and go in form the front under the BBM.

It looks similar, but it reads on the packet Oil Pressure Sender, has a screw base with a plastic bit with has a small spade terminal sticking out of it..

So is this the thingy that is worn and leaking oil.. or am i missing something here and its something different.. Lol this thing only cost me $13 and the Ford oil pressure switch is $40+ i got NFI if its the same thing lol...sigh.

I'd say most likely you got a oil switch, not a sender. Can you put up a photo. Should have cost you $50-$60 for a sender.

Switch (on off)
Sender is what you need.

Well, it was definately the oil pressure sender that was leaking the oil, the unit has actually snapped ( the plastic part of it) and the wire was disconnected. So the fresh oil was just leaking straigh out from where it was snapped... I took out the airbox to get to it easier, im piccking up a new one tommorrow.

Does it require alot of torque to screw the unit in/out and what type of tool is best used to remove it.? Im guessing at shifter spanner or a closed spanner of some sort.

Damn straight, but for me it was the other way around. I wanted a switch and they gave me a sender. Pity I didnt realise until the mechanic put it on and I still had the same symptoms.
Waste of $60.

Mate, that wouldn't be the first time a parts shop has sold someone a switch when they asked for a sensor. Take it back and explain it again. What a pain in the butt!

Just broke the pressure sender trying to remove it from the NF donk. I had to fit a new one and Burson's could get me one so Ford was my only option. As Ashcook said, about $60 and your in business. I got my AU series 2/3 engine from ebay for $365 with 112,000kms on it. By the time I regasketed it and replaced old hoses, seals, bellhousing, coolant, trans fluid, filters and broken bits, it will work out around $1000 for the swap.
