In the ford service manual in my car there is no indicator of when the above ignition items should be replaced. My car is on 85000km(Nov 97 build date) so it has been 7.5 years since these have been installed from the factory.

The car runs sweet at the moment but should I replace them now, so I don't have troubles later on in a few years?

Cheers Luke.

Leads a good idea. Dizzy etc. fairly durable, i wouldnt replace them if they are working OK - just asking for trouble fixin stuff that aint broke.

85000km - she's still a youngin

I agree, I would think about leads, inspect the dizzy cap and rotor, replace if you really want, but basically there are no rules, they last as long as a piece of string
