Now for the next stage of problems i'm encountering in my ea gasket replacement. I've released the timing chain ok now and taken out the timing sprocket bolt. Now i'm trying to get out the bolt which acts as the timing chains r.h.s guide which is located on the front right of the head but i've realised some degenerate of a mechaninc has rounded the bloody thing! Any one got ideas on what to do in this C*** of a situation?

should work from memory that bolt isnt that tight. otherwise theres somethingthing that you can use cant remeber what it is though so this is kinda pointless, disco always mentions it but he in the mines or something atm

Or hammer a 9mm (next size down) socket on there and try again.
Then have a beer to congratulate yourself on your efforts.

hehe, i've already had my beer after i cracked it cause the ratchet slipped and i cut my hand on something.

use a file to square it off, then smack the smaller socket onto it!

arhhg, i've tried everything, filing is no good, i got sockets in with a hammer but it wont turn cause my bolt must be tight as f**k, multigrips don't work. If I found who did this, i'd give em a punch for the trouble!

Get a good socket (1 with only 6 sides not the multiple angled 1) the size of the bolt and hammer it on then get a siding T bar on it and then side a longer steel pipe over then end and it should crack the bolt.
Thats what I had to do when removing head bolts before as they were way over torqued. Good luck
