hey guys, well ive done a head gasket change on my EF and i cant find how much i need to talk the bolts too. ive got them all to 70 pounds, but it just doesnt seem enough to me. should i go more?? iv checked in the book and it told me to do 40 pounds + 90 degree turn ontop of that. but yeah just doesnt seem right. :|

yes spiral pattern from centre out to 40, then a quater turn with the ratchet. Or you can buy a dial indicator that goes on the end of the ratchet. There is no final torque setting for the bolts, and you must use new ones.

thanks mate, yeah got all new ones. know a mate who used his old ones and snapped them trying to re-torque them. 8-)
