last week i was driving in the rain and hit a puddle that was fine but after a bit when i put tha fut down it sounds like the motor is running straight on da chassis like a metal vibrating noise but when i take her out of gear the noise is gone until i put her in drive again but after a while of thrashing the noise is gone i was just woundering does the gearboxes have rubber mounds to hold them in place or could it be something else

if its fine now chances are you might have got water in your ignition system somewhere causing a cylinder to drop out (not firing) and once the heat of the motor got rid of the moisture its running fine again.

it doesnt sound like the exhaust hiting the body cause i had that prob before (which i fixed) the engine mounts looks fine but it sounded like a grinding noise coming from the gearbox

i have checked all the fluids and they are fine but the noise is mainly in 1st the usual whining noise is louder thumps into second gear at about 3g's which jurks ya back (good for in the wet though  )and the car vibrates right through only when its in gear but when i rev it hard in nutral there is no vibration even when i rev it to the limiter it may sound bad but heh im confused :(
