Hey,

Just went to start my car as i was leavin work and no go. Would start to crank over then stop. It only started when i removed the cap off the brake fluid.

When it started it was blowing a s**t load of white smoke. It stopped after like 20 mins then the car seemed ok. Got home checked the water and oil seemed ok except for a nice milky white on the inside of the cap.

Just tryuing to confirm if my thoughts of a blow head are correct.

Cheers

TJ

If its heaps of smoke like a smokescreen then yes it sounds as though you have either a cracked head or the head gasket has failed. Take your plugs out and look for traces of coolant. When this happened to me #4 cylinder was full to the plug hole with coolant :( It was also very hard to start.

a heap of white smoke and milky s**t on the oil cap are a dead give away for a blown head gasket, when ya get a chance pull the dipstick out and have a look at the oil.

or else clean the cap, top up water/oil levels and monitor it closly.

Hey,

Thanks for the replies. Yeah i was speaking to a guy i know through work who works at repco and works on heads. He gunna loot at it tomorrow.

300 bucks to remove and re-fit the head and a worst case senario of 495 for a reconditioned head. Then he gunna do me trade prices on the oil and s**t.

Once again. thanks for the replies guys and i will let you know what he says tomorrow.

Cheers

Ive done mine twice, 1300 dollars first time, free the second. Primarily due to the head cracking and not just being a gasket.
