I've got a loud ticking noise coming from rocker cover, anyone know what it might be?

How could a lifter brake over night? I was driving the car yesterday and it was fine, then when I started it this morning it was making a ticking noise

lifters are the hydralic self adjustment system that connect the cam lobes to the rocker arms. gives a nice soft and constant cushon between them.

when they go bust the oil goes in and comes straight back out so it wont do its job. $200 a full set i think???

and make sure that if u do have a go, be careful of the lifters falling out into the oil chambers or timing chain! its fun fishing them out with a magnet!
