low coolant light won't go out!

yeh i tested it before, when there is hardly any coolant in the radiator tank, the light will come on.
this is what i want, it will save me a head and possibly a complete engine if something ever fails.

my old gli also blew a hose and if it wasn't for my mate behind me, i wouldn't have known.
