hey guys, my situation is that i want a performance cam (willing to sacrifice some idle quality and economy) for my EBII I6 Auto on LPG and i've looked at all the camshaft threads i can find on here but none really answer some questions i have:

1. i emailed wade and they recommened the 1636 and say that it will suit both petrol and LPG but i dont want/need one for petrol, i want it optimised for LPG. whats ur opinion/experience on this cam for an LPG engine?

2. what are the GRA voodoo camshaft's like? they are called stage 1 which makes me think that its not much better than a stock cam but rather it just makes better use of LPG. anyone care to tell me otherwise?

i've found the following cams:

Crow Cams (2222549)
GRA Voodoo (CAM-VS1-4LT)
Wade Cams (1604 or 1636)
Sure Cams (OXY48)
Tighe Cams (826)
JMM Cam (DEV3HL)

but more (ie. all bar the voodoo) are made for petrol. any suggestions or help is much appreciated 8-)

ask Keith at wade to give you the 1636 with a earlier opening on the exhaust .. that'll sort you out

otherwise, contact Joe from CMS on sales@crescentmotorsports.com and get one from him

are you sure that it need an earlier exhaust? because i've made up this wonderful  chart and it looks like the voodoo (the only actual gas cam on there) has a normal-ish exhaust but later and shorter intake... feel free to correct me if i'm wrong :?:

I thought LPG cam needed longer intake duration?

thats pretty much my thoughts as well.

using less intake would cause an even further drop in topend power over the stock on gas.
the gas takes up more space in the port and allows less air for a given throttle position and valve lift.
one would asume you would have more intake on an LPG cam with a similar exhaust. because once burnt it's no different to to petrol..
