Hi all, my first post on Fordmods. I have an 93 ED Classic 4.0 which has standard running gear except for 2 1/2" Redback exhaust from the cat back. I am considering fitting Lukey extractors and was wondering if anyone has Lukeys fitted to thier car? I spoke with an exhaust specialist today and he basically said to avoid Lukeys and go for Genies, if I go for the Genies it would increase the cost by $250 more than Lukeys.

JMM has suggested Lukey's are the goer other than his own ones. They are a 6>3>1 design.. The only others like this are Pacemaker 4480's, but they're better again.

My suggestion? Find some 2nd hand extractors. You'll save heaps for no noticeable loss in performance over new ones.

I've not found JMM headers 2nd hand, but new I think they're around $500 from JMM.

I'm not a fan of the Lukey's despite JMM's claims, just mostly due to the fact you need to get some pipe made up to the cat, and they're no real 2ndary pipes.. Kinda like the Genies, but they're 6>2>1's. At least both appear to be mandrel bent.

I'm a big fan of Pacemaker because of they're build quality and design. Pipe over cone is common sense, and no one else makes them that way. They are also mandrel bent, and have decent length 2ndary pipes.

I scored mine for $50 - no lie, but would've been prepared to pay $200. About $250 is the going rate for them used, on eBay.

They're about $430 landed off eBay new, about $400 - $550 fitted in shops for 4499's. Some lucky fella's will get 4480's for that fitted in Syd / Melb / Bris where it's cheaper.
