it says it would collect the metal particles.

i was wondering if anyone here has actually used one and whether it worked.

I havent got one personally, but they are commonly used and you would be surprised at just how effective they are at collecting all the super fine stuff that may not get trapped in the filter.
They are a good indicator of an imminent failure too if you just so happen to drain your oil at the right time :)

yes they do work..
most motorcycles use them from factory.
i had one in my old au engine and it did catch fine particles..
right up untill the aux shaft failed.. at this point the magnetic bolt had that much metal attached it couldnt hold any more..lol
it looked like the bolt had an afro..

I just bought one of these, and now the ebay seller wants to know which thread diameter I require on the plug.

"12mm x 1.25mm" or "14mm x 1.5mm"

Which one will suit my AU3 6cyl???

Dave
