The EF timing cover and sump will fit the AU block for a straight fit.
Or mod the front of the AU sump to clear the k frame.

EF/EL Sump 'WILL NOT FIT AU ENGINE'. Why do you think people pay $120 plus to have a sump modified of modify their K Fame to fit an AU Engine to their EF/EL's if an EF/EL sump would fit. AU sump won't fit and that means that the Timing Case won't fit either.

I have seen it done. You have to change the timing cover to make it fit.

Changing a main cap would mean line honing the main tunnel. change the bolts and massage the sump with a hammer

depends on bore size-to piston fit, rebore the block to fit pistons,or buy new pistons to fit bore,or if lucky just new rings, check the au shaft hole first :?: :?:

just buy a complete engine.

buying a block and changing over your internals is guaranteed to end in heart ache.

i took the timing chain and gear off today to clean it upo and i noticed theres some slack in the timing chain idler gear, it moves say 2-3mm from side to side but does not have any slack up and down,,, im pretty sure this connects to the dizzy and oil pump

Should i be worried, or do a shell be right

Sounds like its had a head gasket job once, and the cam chain tensioner wasn't reset.
