sorry to hijack, but what are everyones thoughts on a 2.1/4 inch system, as i also have an el auto, but don't want it loud and drony like my friends ed, which has the usual extractors, smashed out cat, 2.1/2 redback.

I'm after the crack that my 250 crossie puts out but not as loud. i'm sure the 260' cam has something to do with the note thou..

nothing wrong with a 2 1/4, just make sure its mandrel at that size, and with a hi flow straight thru muffler.

2 1/4 make better low down torque than 2 1/2. this is because of exhaust gass velocity. the larger the diameter the more the gass condenses at lower rpm as it cools and becomes heavier. but as you get to high rpm, the smaller diameter pipe will restict more.

size your exhaust to where you want to make power.

My old futura had extractors, hi flow, centre muffler, rear muffler and 2.5inch. (all from liverpool exhausts (hurricane extractors i think, made by them personally.)

sounded great, and should be on my new ghia very soon. If you do a search there should be a video, ill upload a new one on the new ghia.

This guy has it right, best option, has a nice noise to it, as well as the maximum power outage (in terms of exahust flow)...

Do this mate and you'll be satsified.
