Depends on a few factors, but I personally wouldnt go much past 480 on standard springs.

how much lift on old springs? no more then stock. i know alot of people do run bigger cams with old springs but it's a gamble. i've seen up near .520 on XR springs and on one of the heads i have here i messured .615 at the point the retainer hit the valve seal.

Ive seen many std springs be pushed to the 0.530" range, but your gambling with it cause as tickford_6 said they arnt a good idea to stretch further than what they are used to

My Crow cam has 0.530 of lift. But it more depends on how steep the lobes are. I don't get any valve bounce and haven't had any problems with the coils binding, When I instaled the cam I checked and there was still good clearance between the coils.
