hey fellas just got back from the mechanic and found out the car had a s**t load of metal in the sump from when something to do with the timing chain broke.
anyway it got sucked up through the oil pump and i lost all my oil pressure
luckily it broke the pump before goin into the motor
just thought i might let the know incase it happens to anyone else.

Ah, he was in the middle of nowhere, had no phone signal, no supplies, and it was late or something?

You just stuck a magnet on? Id just get a replacement plug... that way nothing is going to come off....

i think he means a magnet on the end of the sump bolt so all metal pieces/shvings are caught on it and not sucked through the system, like the autos.

yep thats what i meant. Makes it easier to see how much metal your getting when you service it and also stops the s**t floating around. I didnt know autos had them though

Whats the full story on the auto then. I know the brass bits in the core of the radiator have a tendency to break off and collect in the transvestites filter. But this isn't good and I've forgotten what can happen next 8-) , how f**k useful am I :?
BTW I checked over this paragraph with my f**k up spell checker and it replaced "tranny" with transvestite :?

Oh i realise he was sticking the magent on the plug and replacing the plug :P But id get a plug with a magnet already in it, rather than just stick a magnet on the plug.... nevermind! :P
