It will only be something simple like the ignition system or the fuel system. Just a process of elimination!

my misfire has just gotten worse... before it would only do it after running the car for 30 minutes or so... but yesterday i drove to the fish n chip shop.. and on the way back is was misfiring... i've bought new leads and plugs.. so i'm gunna change them today... i hope it's not anything more serious then that... it only really seems to do it under load...

coilpacks are another source ofproblems on ef's as well....

tend to drop cylinders under load when they start to fail

they had quite a few reliability issues with coilpacks in the EF, thats why they went back to the normal coil system on the EL

no.
the reason for the normal distributor/coil was to cut costs.
the au's design is better though, but based around the ef's.
there is nothing wrong with the ef's coilpack system, if anything its' more superior than the el.

just reminds me of my old VN Commy those coilpacks (might even be the same) they were crap on commys too, thats why they changed them on the VN series 2 and VP on

got a phone call from the workshop saying they couldnt find anything wrong with the coilpack/ cam angle sensor or knock sensor.. so they suggested mayby the ecu is playing up or its in the tune of the unichip.. (dont think so myself) feels like im on a merry-go-round.. "I HAT U MIS!!" DAMN U TO HELL!!!! The car is booked din at granville autotech to have a diagnostic check n mayby a dyno tune while its there.. so hopefully the prob will be traced.. This prob is making me crack the s**t!! :? although the workshop found the sterring had quite a bit of "free play" before engageing the wheels to turn left or right.. so they are fixing that atm..

got the car back thismorning.. they replaced the steering shaft cos it had too much freeplay in it... although my battery is rooted.. (a dead cell) cannot even restart with a baterry charger hooked up... they told me all the cencors seem to be fine... n that i should start checking it isnt the ecu causing my probs... mayby the voltage spikes are to blame for mucking with the ecu..
