that misty colour could be steam which could indicate a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Is your car now lacking in power? How many k's has the car done and what model is it?

It also depends how long the cars been running and how warm it is. Especially in winter

whats the colour of the mist? Im assuming since you call it mist its water vapour and thus like fog. is it a really cold morning?

Or if you put your hand about 2 inches from the exhaust does it get really wet? when I did my gasket there was enough water coming out the exhaust to wet your hand in a couple of seconds. The cracked gasket/head will pull outside air into the cylinder and compress it into water vapour.

if its got a blueish tinge to it its oil burning, and if its dark grey/blackish, its overfueling.

If there is coolant coming from the exhaust then that is definately a head gasket. If the vapour dissapears once the car reaches normal operating temperature then it's nothing to worry about.

check your bottom hoses, and also your welch plugs. if you dont get the coolant level right, the plugs get holes in them eventually and you slowly leak out the side of the motor.

so even after its warm, still steam coming out of the pipe, unless you notice any leaks, i'd say its the gasket or a cracked head. When was the last time the gasket was changed? Should be ready for its second change.

Just curious if you noticed it loosing water and thought about the excessive water vapour might be the cause???

I would be checking all water hoses first and the heater tap (prime cause for water loss) may be just starting to leak.

Some mornings here in SA have had heaps of condesation from my car, if it was a burnout I'd be a legend!!!!
