hi all ford fans
 ummm, i know jack all about cars, so use ur car terms n stuff and i vaguely remember seeing a dictionary on this site, so i'll go check out wot ur talking about that way.
my query is simple, but probably requires a fair bit of information to be shared i have a stock ED. straight 6. um...i think its 4.0L. i want to replace it with a v8 in there. my purpose in asking is so that i know wot will work and wot wont work, and to pretty much find out wot options are available to me. will a v8 even fit in there? if so which engine would u recommend for an affordable price range 2-3k. im not too fussed on the specifics, as id rather get some recommendations, buy the engine and leave the conversion in the capable hands of someone who could do it for me. if u need to know more info, just holler at me. cheers |

Not really when u think of it U go out buy a V8 u dont kno how meny kays on it U dont kno if its gonna run..
U go buy a Eb-ed Xr8 u kno how meny kays on it You can test before u buy And so on |

cheap one will set you back 1500 (GLi)-12,000+(XR8 Sprint), depending on condition, mods etc
as the fuel cost are getting higher more and more people cannot afford to run a v8 and you will see more for sale

Well u can get a eb xr8 or like 2-3k? and a ed xr8 3-5k
He can sell the Ed for 1.5k+ and he said he had 2k 2spend on the motor and fitting? Work it out

so thats 3.5k on a stock xr8
or he could keep he's car do a motor swap for max 1 k and have 1k left for mods

But is he gonna get a tickford 5L for 1k? Rebuilt one of them out of the car is worth more right?

yeh but it depends on wat motor he wants i'd do the v8 conversion for experience and its cheaper but more fukn around but i'd get the ed xr for looks

so lets say 1k for a 302 Plus he knos jack all about cars soo 500-1k 2 get fitted? It will work out the same
