the thing is having a job (and living with parents) means you can put all your costs into the car (and whatever you do on the weekend).

it also comes down to choices too
eg: have 1 quiet weekend each month, and you save yourself up to $200 each time.. amazing sometimes

is it really that easy to afford a typhoon on 320/week even though your at home? what about insurance on top of that?

Tocchi has an xg ute which he is collecting turbo bits for :D

I work and BUDGET!!
Put aside money every week for my neccesaties(bills-rent-food-savings-etc) then watever is left goes on my car

you'd be battling to get insurance for 1 of those at age 19.

i pay 1100 a year on my 04 xr8 ute, i was very happy with that considering how hard it is to find someone that'll actually help me out

Work hard.

Work harder.

Stop smoking.

Take lunch to work with you.

Kick kids out of house.

Work even harder.

Alright... I take lunch with me and work hard.

Work out your priorities and a budget. Hang in there.

yeah like cooki monsta said.. the best way if u want mods quick is to get a 2nd job like a pizza delivery driver or similar.. local pizza shops usually pay cash in hand and in one night you can get about 150 bucks or so if its busy..

I think if you can work, and control your spending, your pretty set.

Then it just comes down to patience.

I work lots and put 90% of my money into my cars.

It just occured to me you could also contribute to sperm banks on the side. Assuming $50 a pop, 7 days a week, that's a reasonable sum for 5 minutes work :) I think there's some kind of rules against that though.

my parents own the Phoon. and ive seen (advertised) that the minimum per week payment is $157.
for a $65k car (ignoring interest, so just paying the $65k) it would take just under 8 years at $157/wk ... f**k that

Work hard mate, and you'll get there.
The banks still help by lending some money.
But if you want or need parts for your car, just save a bit each week, and go and buy them gradually, or save up your money, and then go and buy them all at once.

work 2 jobs, i do!

i work 7-3.30 during the week landscaping, and make $510 clear from that,

then i usually work friday/saturday/sunday nights at a drive through bottle shop, really good money there, fri: $19 per hour, sat: $21 per hour, sun: $25 per hour.

with the hours i do i make an extra $300 - $350 on the weekends.

i work so much i dont have time to go out, so save more money there.

ill be saving plenty of money soon. (after i pay off 2 fines and the $280 eye exam i had to have this morning  )

Get a border - help you pay the bills.
Plus if you need parts, go to the self serve wreckers and get the parts yourself.
