no, the ECU is completly different from CFI to MPFI, you need to change it to a MPFI ECU, and its got too suit your transmission as well, if you have a 3 speed auto, youl need a 3 speed auto MPFI ECU, if u have a 5 speed, you need a manual MPFI ECU.... there not hard to find, people practicly give the auto ones away for free

changing the ECU is the easiest part of the whole thing.... all it involves is un plugging the old one and plugging the new one in, done

G'day, I saw your MPFI conversion, and i plan to do the same. Before i started, i wanted to find someone who'd actually done it and ask a few questions. i think the main question i had was about the wiring of the MPFI ECU.. My car is an EA and has no smartlock, and is 3speed auto if this info is needed.
I assume i will need an EB MPFI ECU, Loom, Fuel pump, manifold+injectors etc, and MPFI dizzy...
Any information you can give me would be fantastic.
Thanks guys
David

Search fordforums.com.au i have made a full conversion thread with pics.

just adding, with ea's, you do not need a manual ecu for a manual car, i was running my ea t5 cfi on a 4spd mpi ecu.
