So is this pretty much the only option for late model cars with coil packs?

BPT have some pretty cool stuff!

There are coil packs to suit the V8's - no 6cyl coil packs though :(

Yeah its just a throttle body spacer which creates turbulance, so its very much like the Hiclone device. However because its a spacer it will increase torque regardless of the turbulance it also creates. Unless they tested it next to a smooth surfaced spacer you wouldnt be able to tell if the turbulance made any difference.

As for the Hiclone gizmos, they are s**t and rarely give any benefit. Might as well go get a can of coke, cut the can into blades and bung it in your intake....

I did a search on the coil packs they sell, and there are ones available for the Jeep 6 cyl, so im sure there would have to be one that would suit the Falcon 6 cyl. Maybe someone can email them and ask, see what the go is...

I Have currently got a Crane Hi-6 and matching coil for sale.

Hey Jamie.

The MSD I got off you is working great. If any of you guys make it to Kwinana on Monday (the 27th) We will be there racing. For now, we have put the 6000rpm pill in the MSD. We don't rev the big block too hard so 6000 is plenty. However I have revved the motor and it spins around to the limiter really easily.

Also, I saw the letter to the editor that you wrote to Street Machine.

I reckon a spacer would be worth a try on yours. See if it gives you any more bottom end torque. As for the coke can, yeah sure why not, its only going to cost you a $1.40 from your local vending machine. Sorry Long necks cant be used

Im in the process of designing a custom intake though. Using an EB/D intake as the basis, and chopping off most of it... Also going to try an intake much like the nizpro XR6t plennum... Thats another story for another day though...

Back on topic... I want a better coil... anyone else :D

I found an interesting product in "Dragster Australia" magazine the other day. This may be of interest to EF or AU owners.

Electromotive Engine Controls sell a distributor-less XDI Direct Ignition System. It is fully configurable. It uses multiple coils instead of a dizzy and rotor setup. The controller can supply ignition to 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 cylinder engines. It has MAP sensor input for turbo/blown applications.

If you are interested contact Slingshot Performance on 0419 702 240.

I hope this helps.
