So i was going to do the Coil and dizzy on the good old EA today , but its multipoint and i had my step father tell me its a simple job but when push came to shove he told me manifold needs to come out hes not getting his hands in that tight place

i was wondering any pointers on how , he knows what hes doing with cars but hes had single point EA's so this ones just to "tricky" :(

any help would be greatly apperciated im finnaly out of hospital so il be doing it in my wheel chair lol

would it be possible to remove the manifold with out getting under the car ? if so i might do it and at the same time i can clean it all out all the gunk etc

no need to remove the manifold, but is there a problem with the current dizzy?

remove the airbox, remove the leads off the dizzy cap.
remove the cap
turn engine until rotor is pointing to "finish" on the plastic cap below the rotor
remove the rotor and plastic cap, and then remove the dizzy noting where the TFI connector is facing.

then do the reverse to reinstall.

I just did coil on my EA and no problem. You need to get to it by a long extension to the upper bolt from the top and running it between the intake runners. Then get under the car and you can use a socket extension and uni joint for the lower bolt after you get your hand up there and disconnect the connector and the HT lead. If you need to just use your hand to push the heater hoses to the side while you work. I did my coil in around ten minutes all up. Note newer style coils require an extension harness typically provided with the new part.
