Thankgod for the EF having smartlock... my car was not stolen...

Yesterday (13/9/05) someone tried to steal my car... I found out @ 4:15pm when opening my drivers door, I noticed a fairly large screwdriver hole next to the door handle... the person also busted up the locking barrel on my drivers door, so now the door is completely fuked.

Now when i put my key in the drivers door, it turns all the way in the barrel, but it doesnt unlock\lock... so theres no way the theif would have had a better chance, WITHOUT my original car key...

I never thought this would happen to me, or my car... especially being left in a well populated carpark @ my trade school.

this crap is F$%KED!!! i had my old XF broken into 3 times in one year...i know XFs are exactly fort knox but its the principle of the matter:

first time some1 had a key, opened my door and flogged my change. second time they punched the lock barrel and opened the door but didn't take anything. third time they smashed my rear window and butchered my 6x9s but didn't take anything, and it cost me $327 for a new window.

JUST F$%K OFF!!!

I wouldn't put all my confidence in smartlock, my mate's EF got stolen twice.

It will be a good investment to get an alarm or something to scare the theif off especially if it is in a populated carpark.

problem with car alarms these days, is no one gives a s**t anymore, they look over and go, oh yeah just someone forgetting to turn it off before getting in, i mean you hear so many alarms go off, no body gives it a second thought, i mean its better than nothing, but pretty much useless, ya need something that will ring ya mobile when your car is being broken into, or something like that, im sure they have that, if not PAT AND PENDING!!! :)

Maggots.
God help anyone that I catch trying to bust into either of my cars.. actually if some ones busting into the Sprint, even god won't be able to help them.
I think if I went an alarm I'd splurge and get a paging one. Sirens don't do s**t, unless you're lucky and theres a person that actually gives a f**k around.
Some people just have the attitude of 'not my car, not my problem'.

think about it, your trying to break into a car, your worried the owner will come back or someone will see you with the screwdriver in the lock, next second the alarm goes off, not many car theifs would stick around to finish breaking into the car. ive NEVER heard of anyones car with an alarm going missing (enless they had something to do with it)
