As the title states, checked the oil level etc today and i got one hell of a shock!!! for some reason the oil level was so god dam low that it took about 2L of oil to fill back up to the full mark!!!!

I only just checked it b4 the Victor cruise an it was fine, was prolly only just sitting below the full mark.

Its only been 6 days since then and well i got now idea how the hell it could drop that much!!! :?

It does have a leak at the rear main but it never used to leak that much was more of a seep!! What else could of caused the massive loss of oil.

Car seems to be running fine no bad noises coming from the engine or ne thing cant find ne other leaks ne where. and the exhaust smoke does not smell like oil either.

Has ne one got any thoughts on what caused this? Or could the leak from the rear main be getting worse?

As soon as i get the car up on the ramps im gonna see how bad it is then let yous know.

Cheers guys.

Is this a serious thing or would it be caused thru the rear main leak? I will contact my warrantee company and get them to cover me for the repairs as a rear main is considered a (internally lubricated part) which is covered regardless.

But yeah its starting to worry me a fair bit as most things do when something goes wrong with a newish car. :?

Have you had a good look around the area of the rocker cover gasket as well? I just noticed mine's gone this morning and there's very little evidence of it on the motor itself, it's not until you look down at the transmission that you realise what's going on.

The only fresh oil i have spotted so far is near the rear main. But i will definately check out the rest of the car tommorrow, as i will have to put the car on ramps to see whats going on.

Thanks again

Small leaks eventually become big leaks, laws of nature.

When you get it fixed, do the front seal on the box, for a 10 buck part, might as well do it, while the box is off.

Nope its definately not burning ne oil, has the usual petrol smell along with the dark grey smoke on start ups but other than that no signs of oil being burnt... :?

Ahh just had a look under the bonnet for a bit, to see what was going on, wont be getting ramps until later on this arvo so i checked around the engine bay and had a real good look around the head, exhaust manifold and near the belts and all that and to my amazement i found this s**t all over my block!!

Can someone host pics for me! i took some pictures of it cause its got me stumped. :x

Its a different problem now, but im am certain that the loss of oil was from the Rear main so i will get it booked in asap.

So can ne one host some pics for me i have 5 in total :P

Thanks

Looks like dried coolant to me dude... few leaks here and there. tighten your hoses and some new gaskets where required.

when you checked the oil in your engine, was the motor cold?

I resized the pics for you too to save on load time.

Yeah cheers for that KTASTRPHE, sorry about the image sizes too :?

When i checked the oil it was just after i had started it up, it was running for about 2-3mintues and then i shut it down as i freaked out!!!

Then i waited for it to settle and then i checked it. Was sitting on the 1/4 mark or the add oil bit, took about 2.5L to fill back up.

Im contacting some people tommorrow in regards to getting the cost taken care of and once thats sorted out i will get it fixed regardless.

Still fricken annoying thou :x

Thanks again

is your problem with the gunk all over the place. Just did mine the other day. New gasket is about $2.50 from Repco. Takes all of 10 minutes to fix.
