Hey guys,

I just bought a new XR50 Ute as my first new car a few weeks ago, at the sweet age of 19  A little better than my old Ford Courier haha.
So anyway I'm stockpiling parts for when I can legally mod it, although I don't think Ill be able to help myself :P

Anyways I have a small list of parts that I would love some feedback on and some guidance as to brands and or
compatibility with the N/A 4.0L Straight 6 and drivetrain components..

Parts I already have:
- PWR Billet ECU Cover (bling bling lol)
- MSPEC Overflow tank (more of this ^ I guess..)
- Underdrive kit (Yet to install)
- MSD Ingnition Box w/ Rev Limiter
- Throw over seat covers? Lol..

Parts I am looking at:
- LSD (Dont know what I need... :? )
- Extractors and full 2.5" Mandrel bent Stainless Steel exhaust system with twin pipes out back.
- Cams (Again, dont know what I need, yet)
- CAI FG xr8 kit from "xr8 dismantler" (awaiting reply)
- I want a new N/A intake plenum setup.. Havent found anything yet for the FG, is the factory item satisfactory?
- Slightly lowered springs
- Wheels spacers (can these be dangerous at all?) Just want the wheels to sit flush with the arches, which will probably be rolled at the same time.. I think the back needs to come out like 50-60mm
- And a tune obviously..

I think thats it..?
Ill probs get a blower for it eventually too... Thats a fair way off though.. haha

Thoughts?

what i would do is trhow your list out
LSD non other then a Tru track by eaton $1400 + fitting
pace maker p4495 headers with 3'' cat
piss the 2.5 inch exhaust off and go 3'' with 1 ofset muffler and 1 straght through
cams don't bother it's as simple as that
the factory plenum is extreamly good
as is the FTG intake + k&n panel
stuff lowering it
get diff gears
you will have a ss beating 13 sec car on your p's

what gear box did you get?

ahh good boy the auto's the pick
im going for 3.27:1 in mine i'l let you know how it goes:)
cops cant tell with diff gears so you will get away with that 1:P
i think your's is 2.73:1 so anything up to 3.46:1 is doable even 3.73:1 but might be a bit crazy
hence why im going 3.27 a nice medium gear set im hoping to run 12's soon

Matey, I know you are not going to like this but WHY trash a NEW Car? seems silly to me and that rough treatment will be noticed on the car. If you give it too much grief you may end up doing damage that Warranty WON'T pay for.

Take your time with the vehicle and wait till the warranty period is over before you start doing changes.

No disrespect mate, but that's just how I like it.. Its not like I don't service it and love it to bits, but its no garage queen, even though I polish it once a week... I drive it hard, as its been designed to take it like a champ. And as I understand it, Ford have been using the same parts for decades, so they're pretty inexpensive to fix compared to an import or something..

You cant expect an 19yo adrenalin junky to buy a new car and not have some fun in it?
With my income and expenses I probably wont have this car in 3 years time anyway, so WHY NOT?
I could care less about resale value, since its already dropped 10k the second I drove it out of the dealer..

And I've already stated that I am not planning on modding it until I can without voiding either insurance or warranty, so no worries there. The last thing I want is the car to be repo'd.

i completely agree with George and im not sure but if your going through tyres like crazy (doing burn outs im guessing) then im pretty sure ford would be able to see all the little Tyre fragments up the inner guard then they would stamp void on ur head

even if you have very little expenses like u state and a high income (i doubt it will last 3yrs m8 wait till u move out of home if you haven't already) u still shouldn't be stupid and trash a good car even if it lost a lot of value as soon as u drove it off the lot still not a excuse to trash it

and if your gonna hoon around and be a d**k go get a Holden
