Hi guys, I'm going to check out an NC Fairlane, 6 cyl, to use as a hack / runaround kind of car. It seems to be in really good nick body / interior wise, has a HM recond motor with 95k kms on it and seems generally to be a good thing - guy wants $1,100 for it but I reckon I can get it for under a grand.

So, what are these like? are there common problems or weaknesses I should be looking out for? Anything with regard to the head gasket issues that seem to be a problem with these motors (bearing in mind this has a HM engine, maybe thats already been addressed?)

Your thoughts and comments will be appreciated!!

pretty much ever part of them is the same as a falcon,

i have had a NC for over a year now, no issues with it at all, all the suspension diff gear box engine electronics are the same as a falcon. mine is a v8 found that the 6 is a little slow as its bigger and heavier than the falcon but same power and running gear

cheers, thanks mate. Yeh don't really care much about its performance within reason since I'll be keeping my XB coupe anyway, but its not very practical for hauling family about....

Rust - Sills, doglegs, right next to the bootlid above the tail lights, top of windscreen.

Suspension - is SLS connected, if so does it work?

Apart from that, as per E Series.
