hey guys any help would be great. i hav a ea 5 speed 6cly and it wont start. when puttin a battery in i touched the body with the spanner. woops. started the car anyways and in started and was running for a few mins then died.
found a wire that burned though and that wire come from the dizzy fuse next to the battery. change the hole wiring harness but still didnt start? change all the relays iswell but still nothing. then found the fuel pump dosnt turn on either? so no spark or not fuel pump turning on? any help would be great thanks Mick |

Only thing that comes to mind is the fusable links if the fuel pump wont start...
There is a yellow wire there that goes to the ignition switch, when you turn the car to on is closes the coil on the fuel pump relay and you should hear it... So if its not going, and its not the ignition switch... Then it really sounds like a fusable link... but if it started and then stopped, that's bizarre too... The fuel pump didn't seize, or die, or something stupid did it? Sending PM Cheers, Tim

Have ignition on and try and push start it. If it goes at least you know your fuel pump pumps!. Check fuses in cabin too!. Use a multimeter to check for voltage in circuits. Last but not least your coil might of died, + dizzy. Check for spark Good luck with it !

hi there
it could be the computer too,it is on the left hand side down in the kick panel. l had this and l check everything and l replace the computer and it was up and runnig again..........

If the TFI modal is stuffed, you won't get any injector pluse, it won't start relays and fuel pump won't start ...

im in the same boat as this guy,
only thing is i didnt do anithing with the battery, i put in a dvd player, and well it just doesnt start, battery anit flat, i can turn the key all the way, but yerh just dont kick over, btw i drive a 94 ed fairmont gear dedicated gas *lol, no balls*m if you guys can think of anithing that may solve the problem would be a big help, im thinking its sumfen to do with the gas mixer or sumfen to do with the gas, but yerh, ani ideas please
