hey there everbody just the other day my ef mont had a slight knock on start up and that was it. but yesterday i was drivin and gave it a boot full and a terrible noise like a cat scratchin baliticly came from under the rocker cover . so when i got where i was goin i removed the rocker cover and inspected the rocker gear and all seems sweet. lash adjusters have been on their last legs but no major fault that would casue that noise i think so today im tryin a spare set of rocker gear out of a 75.000km engine i have here and see how it goes but any other advice the better thanx

come on some one out there must have an idea at wot it could be ,replaced rocker gear and still no fix plz help

Check timing chain guides
Check vacuum hoses and PCV Check compression Run diagnostics on the ecu and see if it has recorded any errors

Any smoke come from the exhaust when it was making that awful noise under full throttle?
