just put new belts on my ebII how long does it take to wear them in, because in the morning when the cars cold they scream like no tomorrow,

My blower belt is manually tensioned so I usually put a new belt on, do it up to the correct tension (just tell by feel nowadays...). Then drive it for 100km or so and check the tension, usually needs tightening a bit...

This might be a stupid reply but...

Dont do them up to tight, or else you will hear funny noises in the engine bay until the belt snaps, and then yeah... not good.
