Yea its going in my son's car EDXR6 ..He's bought EMS 8860 etc just need to finish off manifold & injectors.... My son Jamie is "supposed" to be helping !!!! But one can't restrict one's social life now can we??
Thats not the only project we have going on either..This engine and trans is going in when my older sons Charade's engine is re-built...I hear you ask? Is this Daihatsu std?? Na its a CB70 12 valve twin cam turbo 3 cylinder, turbo..Its down at Wollongong getting bearings fitted as this engine is quite unique it has larger journals to other Toyota/ Daihatsu engine!!! The factory bearing shells only come in std size.Pluss the Japs have stopped putting lead copper in there bearings which makes bearings soft in this application..So we found Yanmah bearings fitted and being from diesel they are hi load..So when the Charade is going the XR6 is getting its transplant..Then hopefully NO more oil on driveway!!! The rear main seal has been done 4 times now...Speedy sleeve could fix it but if we are going to dothat may as well change engine...
Yes Michael helps me out with the alloy welding and polishing...Thanks for the comments guys...
Pic of Charade CB70 engine... 100 kw @ wheels with 20 Lb boost..Mind you with factory 7.8 compression..The std Charade gear just doesn't stand a chance...
